  • 1270 ca.: born in Bologna to a family of Tuscan origin.
  • 1311: a private document records that Mondino resides in Bologna, in the chapel of Sant’Antonino.
  • 1312: engages in a disputation, documented in the manuscripts München, C.L.M. 244, ff. 135v-138v and Vatican City, Vat. Lat. 2418, ff. 168ra-169rb
  • 1316: composes the Anathomia.
  • 1316: arranges for Master Uguccione di Giglio to transfer from the University of Padua to San Marco in Florence to teach natural philosophy at the conventual school.
  • 1320: purchases land in Barbiano, near Bologna.
  • 1321: listed among the salaried masters of the Municipality of Bologna, teaching medicine with an annual salary of 50 lire.
  • 1323: July 20, Master Fiduccio Milotti da Certaldo, a friend of Dante, writes his will at Mondino’s residence.
  • 1324: again recorded as a salaried master in Bologna, now teaching practical medicine with an annual salary of 100 lire.
  • 1326: February 17, Dictates his will and dies shortly thereafter. Buried alongside his uncle Liuzzo at the Church of Saints Vitale and Agricola in Bologna.
